  1. On behalf of the Cumberland County Christian Women’s Job Corps, wanting to download the Grant Application, but unable to do so online. Please advise. Thank you, and God bless you!

  2. Dear Holly Neal:

I’m emailing to ask if The United Fund of Cumberland County might be interested in participating in the service-learning project I am conducting for one of my ENGL 1010 courses this fall. I am an assistant professor of English at Roane State Community College and teach primarily at the campus here in Crossville.

The service-learning I facilitate for my class requires students to work with various organizations in the community, but the work they do has to connect with the objectives for the course, which means that the work has to involve writing of some form. Students might write public service announcements, or they might conduct interviews with key people in an organization and use that information for public relations purposes for the organization. Students can help promote events such as fundraisers. Last spring, students created flyers for their organizations and also helped their organizations update Facebook pages and websites. The projects need to be something that freshman students can reasonably assist with or write on their own. Other projects might include editing or writing parts of newsletters and helping with annual reports, etc.

If you are interested, please let me know about the events or goals that my students might help you with.

    Thank you,
    DeAnna Stephens

  3. DeAnna, I am sorry I was not alerted to this comment on our website. Yes, Yes, Yes I am very interested since I am the one part-time employee and at times I feel like I have said all I know about a subject. Right now I am writing weekly newspaper press releases with updates from our Fairfield Glade Door-to-Door Campaign which runs through Nov. 14. We will also need to thank residents at the conclusion of the campaign.

Will need to write an appeal fundraising letter for the end of year giving.

Next year The United Fund will be celebrating our 50th year and we are in the planning stages of how to effectively communicate our impact on our community over 50 years. We will also need articles, publicity, scripts for the local tv station interview, plus PR for several of our yearly events, Auction in March, Block Party/Open House in July, Golf Tournament in August,, Kick off in September. The better way to contact me in the future is or 484-4082. I hope we can partner together making this venture a win-win for all of us.

  4. Louise, I just saw your message on our website, I am embarrassed by this, I thought I would receive a notification from our server. I am putting you down to receive a funding application for 2017 which will be available Feb or so 2016. Please forgive me.

  5. I am writing on behalf of my father who is in very bad health and needs assistance fixing a major leak under his mobile home. The last time he had a leak it ran the water bill up to almost $800.00! This leak is in a different area. They are turning the water on only when they need to. Do you have any suggestions on where we can find a volunteer to help repair this? Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated. Thank you, Laura Kerce 843 304 6612

  6. Yes I do, is his home in Cumberland County? If so he can check with Creative Compassion at 931-456-6654
